Jurney To See The Planets
With most of my murals, I do plenty of research on the chosen subject matter, and this one was no exception. From the start I had to re-learn the order of the planets, what colors they each are & what it represents, how far away they are from the earth, and so on. All this information helps make the mural more than just a pretty picture. Its accurate representation not only makes it educational, but it will hold your interest for years to come. This room was designed for a two-year-old little boy, who as I was told was afraid of the dark. I'm just afraid of what's in the dark! I added glow-in-the-dark paint over each of the white stars, and the moon as well. All though not visible during the day, it charges up when the room is well lit, and when the room is made dark, you can make out a few popular constellations against the dark wall.
